BOGART -- North Oconee's Kawon Bryant had not played like the reigning Class AAA Player of the Year. Bryant had just 217 yards in the Titans' first two games, well off his pace of more than 2,500 yard a year ago.

Unfortunately for West Hall, the senior running back decided to make up for lost time.

Bryant rushed for 215 yards and two touchdowns and helped North Oconee take a 28-10 win over the Spartans Friday night. He added one touchdown reception as well.

The loss for the Spartans (3-1) snapped their three-game win streak and their three-game shutout streak in one stroke. The Spartans were banged up coming into the game and did not play Kwon Williams as they get prepared to jump into region play next week.

Bryant got things going for North Oconee (1-2) grabbing a 6-yard TD pass in the first quarter. It stayed that way until West Hall cut the lead to 7-3 in the second quarter on a 42-yard field goal by Bradley Hodgson early in the second quarter.

Three minutes later the Titans' Tate Adcock gave them a 14-3 lead heading into halftime on a 5-yard TD run.

The Spartans would answer immediately in the third quarter capping an 80-yard drive with a 9-yard touchdown run by Jay Crawford to trim the lead to 14-10 midway through the period.

But it was the Bryant show after that. Bryant scored on a 29-yard run late in the third quarter for a 21-10 lead and helped put the game away with a 53-yard scamper early in the fourth quarter.

West Hall coach Tony Lotti said during the week stopping Bryant would be the key.

"They had three weeks to prepare for us and used (Bryant) effectively," Lotti said. "We started strong in the second half and got within four points but we just make the stops when we needed them. The kids are disappointed the streaks came to an end but they know what these games (against four Class AAAA teams) were trying to get us ready for. We're ready to get into the region now."

Tyquan Statham led West Hall with 80 yards rushing on 12 carries.

NOTES: West Hall punter Anthony Lotti had a huge game for the Spartans averaging 55 yards a kick, including 71- and 72-yard kicks, on five punts. ... The Titans had a very rare three weeks to prepare for the Spartans in a quirk of scheduling.
