Banks County soars to second straight win, 43-0

HOMER -- Talk about riding your momentum.<br />

One week after notching its first win of the season, Banks County picked up its second in emphatic fashion on Friday, blasting East Jackson 43-0 in Homer.<br />
<br />
The Leopards (2-1) rolled up 480 total yards, including 129 yards rushing and three scores for Trevae Cain. Meanwhile, Demetrius Walker added 107 yards on 16 carries.<br />
<br />
Quarterback Griffin Goodwin also finished 9 of 15 through the air for 139 yards, with one touchdown and one interception.<br />
<br />
"This was a confidence boost for the kids, and the credit goes to our loyal seniors -- the team has really bought in," Banks County coach Biff Parson said. "We're on the right track.<br />
<br />
"We challenged the kids before the game to start well, to come out and play fast and with power and put pressure on the other team, and they did that."<br />
<br />
Banks County will play host to North Cobb Christian next week.<br />
<br />
East Jackson (1-2) will travel to face Franklin County next week.
