OAKWOOD -- Another week, another shutout.

West Hall football fans could get used to this.

The Spartans held a third straight foe scoreless on Friday, this time blanking North Hall en route to a 38-0 victory in Oakwood.

The win moved West Hall to its first 3-0 start since 2008 and its first victory over the Trojans since 2002. And while the Spartans are blazing new trails, they are doing it in an old-fashioned manner: with defense and a run game.

West Hall put up 210 yards on the ground, led by Jay Crawford's 92 yards and two scores on four carries. Nine different Spartans rushed the ball, including Kwon Williams, who added 46 yards on seven carries before leaving the game with an injury. Tyrese Osborne (16 yards) and Cameron Millsap (19 yards) also added rushing touchdowns.

Quarterback Jacobs Satterfield also completed 7 of 10 passes for 77 yards, spreading the ball to six different receivers.

Meanwhile, the West Hall defense allowed just 68 yards of offense -- all on the ground.

Bobby Mendenhall paced the Trojans (0-2) with 68 yards on 12 rushes, including a 48-yard run.

It took West Hall a half to gain their offensive rhythm, taking a 7-0 lead after the first quarter on Osborne's five-yard run and a 10-0 lead into the half -- though West Hall did block two North Hall punts in the first half.

But the Spartans began to pull away after the interval, scoring two touchdowns each in the third and fourth quarter -- including a seven-yard fumble return for a score from Jacob Taylor in the third quarter.

West Hall will travel to North Oconee next week.

North Hall will travel to Carrollton next week.
