GAINESVILLE - In celebration of National Child Passenger Safety Week next week, Safe Kids Gainesville/Hall County, in partnership with Hall County Fire Services, will host two car/booster seat giveaways for children ages 4-8.

The agency will be giving away combination seats (forward-facing only harnessed seats that transition to a booster seat and high-back boosters ONLY! (while supplies last, first come-first served, one seat per child).

The child mustT be present in order to be fitted for the most appropriate car/booster seat. Any seats that are replaced due to age, condition, or recall will be kept and destroyed by Safe Kids Gainesville/Hall County.

"Injuries from motor vehicle crashes are the #1 killer of children ages 1-14", says Kimberly Martin, Safe Kids Gainesville/Hall County Coordinator. The Georgia Child Restraint Law requires that children under the age of 8 years ride in an appropriate child restraint based on their height and weight in the back seat.
