Ga. August revenue up 3.5 percent over a year ago

ATLANTA (AP) State officials said Georgia's net tax collections for August totaled $1.39 billion, up 3.5 percent from a year ago. <br /> <br /> Gov. Nathan Deal on Monday announced the August revenue numbers. He said the $1.39 billion is an increase of $47 million when compared to August 2013. <br /> <br /> So far this year, net tax revenue collections totaled $2.88 billion. Deal said in a statement that represents an increase of $125 million -- or 4.5 percent -- compared to this point during the previous fiscal year.
