White County runs past Jackson County, 34-26

JEFFERSON -- White County bounced back from a season-opening loss to fend off Jackson County 34-26 on Friday in Jefferson.<br />
<br />
The Warriors (1-1) pulled away from a 14-12 halftime lead to take a 34-19 advantage with 6:34 remaining.<br />
<br />
White County did most of its damage on the ground, as Maurice Sutton and Max Taylor both rushed for over 100 yards. Sutton also put up two touchdowns, while Taylor added a 41-yard scoring scamper. <br />
<br />
Warriors quarterback AJ Vandiver and Sam Turner also rushed for one score each, as White County fought off a determined effort from Jackson County's passing attack.<br />
<br />
Panthers quarterback Jacob Lewis and receiver Antonio Strickland hooked up for touchdown passes of 11, four and 28 yards to help keep Jackson County (0-2) in striking distance. <br />
<br />
Lewis also added a 17-yard scoring run.<br />
<br />
The Panthers will look to bounce back next week at Rabun County.<br />
<br />
White County will play host to Pace Academy next week.
