CLEVELAND - A Cleveland man has been arrested by White County authorities in connection with a Friday morning burglary.

White County Sheriff Neal Walden, in a news release, said Friday morning a resident reported a break-in that had just occurred on Highway 356 north of Unicoi State Park.

Walden said as deputies responded to that location, there was a burglar alarm going off at another location just down the road.

A neighbor spotted a red Dodge Dakota truck in the area and was able to get a picture of the vehicle, Walden said.

A few minutes later, another neighbor reported that a man driving a red Dodge Dakota truck broke into his basement by crawling through a window, Walden's release states.

Deputies patrolling the area, working with investigators, were able to locate the truck and the driver on a dirt road nearby.

Walden said items taken from one of the burglaries were located in the truck.

The driver, identified as Jacob Harold Roberts, was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary.

Walden said the investigation is continuing and additional charges will follow.
