GAINESVILLE - The Ice Bucket Challenge, that ALS fund-raiser that has almost taken over social media in the U.S., showed up in downtown Gainesville Wednesday.

The Regions Bank Gainesville Operations Center accepted the challenge in honor of two of its "family" members: Jonni Fitch (mother of Jennifer Dewhirst) and Gayle Shapiro (aunt of Ruth Lawson).

The center is donating $250 to the ALS Foundation and has issued a challenge to all other Region operations centers, all Regions mortgage sales groups and mortgage corporate management.
