2 Braves minor leaguers suspended for drugs

NEW YORK -- Two minor league pitchers in the Atlanta Braves' organization have each been suspended for 72 games after positive drug tests.<br /> <br /> The commissioner's office announced the penalties Wednesday against the pitchers in the Dominican Summer League.<br /> <br /> Right-hander Victor Joaquin tested positive for a metabolite of Nandrolone. Right-handed pitcher Alvaro Silvestre tested positive for a metabolite of Boldenone.<br /> <br /> The new rules of the minor league drug program for short-season leagues say the penalty for a first violation is either 80 games or the total number of regular-season games, whichever is shorter. The Dominican Summer League plays a 72-game schedule.
