Brenau to host exhibition featuring Georgia fiber artists

GAINESVILLE - "Women's Work," an exhibition featuring contemporary fiber artists in Georgia, will be highlighted July 17, 5:30-7:00, at a reception celebrating the opening of the exhibit at Brenau University.<br />

It will be held in the Simmons Visual Arts Center's Sellars Gallery.<br />
<br />
The evening will include a panel discussion on the historical roles of women in the creation of textiles and fiber arts led by humanities scholar Dr. Heather Holliman and artist Jen Borg and a demonstration by the Georgia Mountain Handspinners Guild. The project is supported by the Georgia Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities and through appropriations from the Georgia General Assembly.
