Page becomes sixth different SLM winner at Dixie

WOODSTOCK - Dixie Speedway opened up for its sixth week of racing Saturday night without a single repeat winner in its top three divisions. After all was said and done, only one would gets its first repeat winner.<br /> <br /> Cedartown's Austin Smith took the pole in the Super Late model feature, but it was former track champion Michael Page, driving for Buster Goss, who would take the lead at the green and set sail to become the sixth different winner in as many races. Smith tried to get close on a couple of restarts but Page was the class of the field on this night. Smith settled for second well ahead of Dale Thurman in third. Cass Fowler dueled with Johnny Chastain for fourth, finally taking the spot for good several laps from the end. Chastain followed in fifth.<br /> <br /> The Steelhead Late Model feature would also see its sixth different winner when Chris Fennell grabbed the lead and went on to his first win of the season. Eric Granger held onto second followed by Alan Brewer, Don Jenkins and Chuck Padgett.<br /> <br /> Coming into the night, the Crate Late Model division had seen no repeat winners thus far this season, but Justin Shipley changed all that as he went on the become the first repeat winner of the year. Zach Pilcher held off Maddie Crane for second with Hunter Jones and Ted Minnix rounding out the top five.<br /> <br /> Daniel Brewer took the checkers in the Super Bomber race then survived a post race protest to get his second win of the season. Randall Powell raced his way up to second trailed by Andy Morris, Craig Scott, and Roy Patterson.<br /> <br /> Dan Meadows celebrated his Lockheed retirement on Friday by racing his way from near the back of the Economy Bomber feature to grab the win over Rob Johnson. David Burtz tucked in behind and made his way to third at the finish. James Gagnon followed in fourth while Ryan Ray, starting 19th in the 20 car field made his way to fifth.<br /> <br /> The Pony Stock race saw Travis Smith take the lead in the early laps and go on score his third victory of the season. Mitchell Pope followed in second with Ronnie Faucett in third, C.J. Dettmar in fourth and Zack Sanders in fifth.<br /> <br /> Wes Chavez held off Todd Lankster for the Cruiser victory for his second win.
