CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- A judge has ruled The Citadel is not liable after a former cadet posted the name and phone number of a Georgia teenager on a pornographic website in 2011.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reports ( http://bit.ly/TNv5bt ) that Circuit Judge Markley Dennis ruled for the state military college in January. The ruling came to light this week when an amended order was filed in the case.
The Covington, Georgia, father of his then 17-year-old daughter sued the cadet and the college, claiming the college did not properly monitor and filter cadets' Internet and computer use.
But the judge ruled the school did not create, author or publish any comments about the teen and is immune from civil liability.
