CUMMING - Crews are ready to begin construction of the Mason Street Parking Facility located near the Forsyth County Administration Building in Cumming.
The five-level, 491-space structure is the second of two parking decks that are part of the new courthouse and jail project.

In preparation for the start of work on the new facility, the construction fence that was erected in April for site preparation is being extended this weekend.

This will result in the loss of the county employee parking area on the north side of the County Administration Building and the 15-minute loading and unloading spaces along School Street. The Water and Sewer Department payment drop-box is being moved from School Street to the grassy area near the one-hour public parking lot along Mason Street.
Construction of the three-level, 222-space Castleberry Parking Facility at the intersection of Castleberry Road and Maple Street is complete. At its June 5 meeting, the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners approved a Resolution conveying title of that deck to the city of Cumming. The opening of the Castleberry Parking Facility will be at the discretion of city officials.
Weekday, daytime public parking spaces are available at several locations near the County Administration Building (please see map at www.forsythco.com). Look for the parking spaces marked with a red dot in designated lots. Limited public parking areas at the County Administration Building are located off of Mason Street and are accessible from Main Street.
