54 NGTC students inducted into National Technical Honor Society

At special ceremonies on the Currahee and Clarkesville campuses of North Georgia Technical College, 54 students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS).<br /> <br /> NTHS is America's highest award for excellence in career and technical education. <br /> <br /> Banks County residents receiving this honor included Daniel Anderson of Maysville in Automotive Technology and Jocelyn Thacker in Culinary Arts AAS.<br /> <br /> Elbert County resident Denise Anderson received this honor for her academic achievement in Culinary Arts AAS.<br /> <br /> Fannin County resident Ann Ellis of Mineral Bluff received this honor for her academic achievement in Clinical Lab Technology.<br /> <br /> Franklin County residents receiving this honor included Air Conditioning Diploma student Clint Caudell of Carnesville, Medical Assisting diploma student Ashley Millsaps of Canon, Industrial System Technology Diploma student Phillip Beard of Royston, Criminal Justice AAS student William Myers of Royston, Criminal Justice Diploma student Aliage' Blackwell of Royston, Business Administrative Technology AAS students Tracey Calvin of Carnesville and Janet Geuter of Lavonia, and Culinary Arts AAS student Christina Glenn of Carnesville.<br /> <br /> Frank Zayas of Buford received this honor for his academic achievement in Photography.<br /> <br /> Habersham County residents receiving this honor included Business Administrative Diploma student Eleanor Alligood of Cornelia, Auto Collision Repair Diploma student Michael Anderson of Demorest, Environmental Technology AAS student Ethan Franklin of Mt. Airy, Internet Specialist Web Design Diploma student Judith Gibbs of Clarkesville, Medical Assisting Diploma students Stephanie Murphy of Clarkesville and Rosena Serrano of Cornelia, Business Administrative Technology AAS student Lisa Staggers of Cornelia, Culinary Arts AAS student Geleta Hunt of Cornelia, and Industrial Systems Technology AAS student Robert Sloat of Demorest.<br /> <br /> Hall County residents receiving this honor included Air Conditioning Diploma student Jonathon Freizet of Gainesville, Horticulture AAS student Brandy Lively of Clermont, and Medical Assisting Diploma student Haley Shuler of Gainesville.<br /> <br /> Hart County residents receiving this honor included Medical Assisting Diploma student Jennifer Johnson, Practical Nursing Diploma student Jennifer Evans, and Industrial Systems Technology AAS student Timothy Owensby.<br /> <br /> Georgia Zumwalt of Jefferson received this honor for her academic achievement in the Photography AAS program.<br /> <br /> Lumpkin County residents receiving this honor included Air Conditioning Diploma student William Clerkin of Dahlonega, Auto Collision Repair Diploma student Kyle Fitts of Dahlonega, and Air Conditioning AAS student Jon Gooch of Dawsonville.<br /> <br /> Rabun County residents receiving this honor included Medical Assisting Diploma student Rebecka Hopper of Rabun Gap, Air Conditioning Diploma student Frank Johnson of Clayton, Industrial System Technology AAS student Brandon O'Kelley of Lakemont, and Applied Business Technology AAS student Brandon Stewart of Mountain City.<br /> <br /> Stephens County residents receiving this honor included Business Administrative Technology AAS student Kimberly Bohannon of Toccoa; Engineering Technology AAS students Travis Hill of Martin and Ethan Lord of Toccoa; Auto Collision Repair Diploma student Kevin LaCount of Martin; Culinary Arts AAS student Faith Ayers of Toccoa; Criminal Justice Diploma student Tiara Merritt of Toccoa; Practical Nursing Diploma student Tracy Robertson of Martin; Industrial System Technology Diploma students Joshua Carswell of Toccoa and John Threlkeld of Eastanollee; and Business Administrative Technology AAS students Shannon Cunningham of Toccoa, Stephanie Morrison of Eastanollee, and Tamara Simmons of Toccoa.<br /> <br /> Mary Davis of Blairsville received this honor for her academic achievement in Photography.<br /> <br /> Cleveland residents receiving this honor included Auto Collision Repair Diploma student Timothy Carr, Business Administrative Technology AAS student Catherine Long, Business Administrative Technology Diploma student Margarita Delgado, Clinical Lab Technology AAS student Karen Jones, and Accounting Diploma student Kathy Garrett.<br /> <br /> For this honor, students must be nominated by an instructor and must maintain a 3.7 GPA. In all, 15 programs were represented and 13 of the NTHS candidates are currently pursuing an Associates Degree.
