ATLANTA (AP) The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reports that more than 316,500 Georgians have picked plans through the federally operated health insurance marketplace.

The report released Thursday says about 57 percent of Georgia consumers who picked plans were women, and roughly 31 percent of consumers who picked plans were between the ages of 18 and 34.

The report says Georgians between the ages of 45 and 54 represented the second largest enrollment group, at 23 percent.

The most popular plan Georgia consumers chose was the second-tier option, called Silver. Seventy-one percent of people who picked plans chose that option.
