Golf: Jacobs qualifies for Class A state, Lions just miss out as team

ATHENS -- Lakeview Academy junior John Jacobs was the low-medalist for non-qualifying teams Monday at the Region 8-A golf tournament at Jennings Mill County Club.
The effort was good enough to qualify him for the Class A state tournament next month in Augusta.
The Lions as a team finished fifth, just missing out on advancing to the Sectionals.
Jacobs finished with an 85 and Gabe McConnell fired an 86 for Lakeview.
