CUMMING - Forsyth County authorities have arrested a man they think is responsible for last week's robbery of Chase Bank on Buford Highway.

Sheriff's deputies say they arrested 39-year-old Stephen C. Plunkett from Dallas, Texas on Georgia 400 Tuesday night around 10:45. Plunkett has been charged with Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault with more charges pending, according to a statement from the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.

Plunkett is accused of approaching a teller at the drive-thru of the Chase Bank at 1710 Buford Highway on April 9, handing her what turned out to be a fake bomb, and demanding money. (See story linked below.)

Plunkett is also wanted in Texas for a probation violation. Georgia authorities think he may be responsible for other robberies in the area.
