Baseball: War Eagles drop heartbreaker to Monroe Area

MONROE -- Monroe Area scored six unearned runs with two outs in the fifth and held on for a 6-4 win over Chestatee Friday night in Region 8-AAAA action.

Stevie Mueller pitched well for the War Eagles scattering five through six innings while striking out four.

Mueller also added a double at the plate. Tanner Gable had two hits and two RBI and Eric George had three hits for Chestatee. Mikey Petraroi had two hits and Jonathan Yearwood had a two-run home run for the War Eagles.

Chestatee will play host to Walnut Grove on Monday.
