Baseball: Spartans rout Fannin Co., tie for third in 7-AAA

OAKWOOD -- West Hall moved into a third-place tie with White County after taking a 16-1, four-inning win over Fannin County Friday in Region 7-AAA action.

Cameron Johnson had three hits and five RBI to pace the Spartans offense. Brian Newman had two hits, including a home run, and three RBI for West Hall (12-5, 8-4 Region 7-AAA). Lincoln Stubbs had three hits and two RBI.

Will Simmons (3-1) got the win on the mound for the Spartans fanning six.

West Hall next will play host to White County on Monday in the first of a home-and-home series with the Warriors.
