For the WBCA, the 10-member team was selected by a vote of the selection committee. The committee is composed of one representative from each of the eight geographical regions and a chairperson.
"Congratulations to the 10 student-athletes named to the 2014 Division II Coaches' All-America Team," said WBCA CEO Beth Bass. "These young women added a step to their game that was above the rest and helped their team become better in all aspects."
Founded in 1981, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association promotes women's basketball by unifying coaches at all levels to develop a reputable identity for the sport and to foster and promote the development of the game as a sport for women and girls.
The Daktronics honor is the second of the postseason for Hill as she was named to the All-Region first team. The All-America teams are sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition. The team is voted on by the NCAA Division II members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA).
Earlier this season, Hill was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year and landed a spot on the 1st team All-Conference squad. She also garnered All-Tournament honors following last week's PBC Tournament.
The senior forward from Gainesville, Ga., leads the PBC in scoring with 23.5 points per game which is on pace to be tied for the third-highest single-season average in league history. Her scoring average also ranks third in the most recent NCAA Division II national statistical rankings.
She also leads the PBC in free throw percentage and is eighth in rebounding and blocks. A two-time PBC Player of the Week, Hill scored 30 or more six times this season including a season-best 37 against Georgia Southwestern in the regular-season finale. She had nine double-doubles on the season.
Hill was instrumental in leading North Georgia to a top-25 national ranking for eight consecutive weeks. The Nighthawks's banner year was capped with an appearance in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional in Hickory, N.C.
