Baseball: Falcons knock off Salem in 8-AAAAA

CONYERS -- Dylan Gibeau hit a home run and Trevor Roof picked up the win to lead Flowery Branch to a 6-3 win over Salem Wednesday in Region 8-AAAAA baseball action.

Jonathan Hughes earned the save for the Falcons (7-3, 2-0 Region 8-AAAAA) striking out six in the final two innings.

Flowery Branch scored twice in the top of the third to take the lead but Salem tied the game at 2 with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning. The Falcons added two runs in the fifth for a 4-2 lead and Salem answered with one run in the bottom of the fifth.

Flowery Branch extended its lead to 6-3 with two runs in the top of the seventh.

Chad Kahlert, Andrew Knoll, Justin Seabolt, and Stephen Skeggs each had two hits for Flowery Branch.
