Bike-pedestrian plan to be included in transportation plan update

GAINESVILLE - A bicycle-pedestrian trail plan, with an estimated price tag of $146 million, will be included in the Gainesville-Hall Metropolitan Organization's long-range transportation plan.

Sam I. Baker, Senior Transportation Planner, for the GHMPO confirmed Wednesday afternoon that there are 39 projects included in the plan for bicycle and pedestrian trails.

Most would connect cities and towns in the county as well as tourist attractions.
Gainesville's Midtown Greenway, above, is included in the bicycle-pedestrian trail plan.
