GAINESVILLE - Have you ever wanted to climb your family tree from the comfort of your home?

HeritageQuest Online, an electronic service available for anyone researching ancestry in the United States, provides this opportunity. The company is best known for its collection of the U.S. Federal Census records from 1790 through 1940 with name indexes for many decades.

There are also genealogy and local history books delivering more than 7 million digitized page images from over 28,000 family histories, and local histories.

Hall County Library officials say that HeritageQuest provides access to valuable data that can provide important clues to tracing a family history, much of which can be printed on a home printer.

The library is hosting a workshop Wednesday, March 19, at 10:30 to explain the research tools the database provides for family history research. It will begin at 10:30 and is free and open to the public.

For more information, call 770-532-3311 ext. 116.
