GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Kaela Davis scored 28 points while Tyaunna Marshall added 26 to help Georgia Tech beat Virginia 77-76 in Thursday's second round of the Atlantic Coast conference tournament.

The seventh-seeded Yellow Jackets (20-10) survived a chaotic finish to advance to Friday's quarterfinals to face 10th-ranked and second-seeded Duke.

The Yellow Jackets took a 77-74 lead on Aaliyah Whiteside's three-point play with 13 seconds left. But on the next play, Georgia Tech's Nariah Taylor was whistled for a technical foul for taunting after blocking Lexie Gerson's 3-pointer.

Virginia's Ataira Franklin hit both free throws with 3.7 seconds left and the Cavaliers got the ball back with a chance to win, but Franklin missed a hurried straightaway jumper at the horn.

Sarah Imovbioh had a career-high 27 points to go with 10 rebounds for the 10th-seeded Cavaliers (14-17), who made 26 of 27 free throws.

Georgia Tech shot 48 percent.
