GAINESVILLE - Jeffrey Simon Hubbard was found guilty today by a Hall County jury in a July 2012 jet ski accident that resulted in the death of an 11-year-old and serious injury to his friend as they rode on an inner tube on Lake Lanier.

Hubbard, 39, of Atlanta, had pleaded not guilty to all charges, including first-degree homicide by vessel.

Killed in the incident was 11-year-old Kile Glover, stepson of R&B singer Usher.

Glover and his father, Ryan Glover, were vacationing at Lake Lanier when Hubbard crashed a personal watercraft into the boys' inner tube July 6. Kile died at the hospital July 21st.

Regarding the injuries suffered by Glover's friend, Jordan Shepp, Hubbard was also found guilty of serious injury by vessel, reckless operation of a vessel, unlawful operation of a personal watercraft and a boat traffic violation.

Investigators have said the jet ski Hubbard was riding hit the children as they were being towed on an inner tube.

Hubbard's attorneys argued that what happened was a tragic accident and wasn't linked to recklessness.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 5th.
