Girls basketball: Chestatee nipped by Pickens in OT

JASPER -- Pickens outscored Chestatee 11-7 in overtime to pull out a 56-52 win over the Lady War Eagles Saturday.

Chestatee (18-4) led 6-5 after the first quarter but fell behind 22-11 at halftime. The Lady War Eagles used a 20-17 third quarter to cut the lead to 39-31 and then forced overtime with a 14-6 fourth quarter run.

Bridgette Kelly paced Chestatee with 18 points. Kayla Watson added 16 points
and Savanna Long had nine points for the Lady War Eagles.

Chestatee will be back in action Monday in a Region 8-AAAA contest against Johnson at home.
