Georgia Department of Corrections spokeswoman Gwendolyn Hogan could say little about the incident due to the ongoing probe.

"The incident is currently under investigation, however we can confirm that Officer Ann Marie Johnson was arrested and has been terminated," Hogan said Wednesday.

According to the warrant taken by state investigators for sexual assault against a person in custody, the incident involving a female inmate occurred on Nov. 17 and on another date.

The warrant taken on Johnson for violation of oath of a public officer states that "while serving as a correctional officer for the State of Georgia, Ann Johnson engaged in personal dealings with inmate [name withheld] at Lee Arrendale State Prison."

The warrant also states Johnson violated her oath of office by bringing the female inmate a ring, necklace and body lotion, and by engaging in sexual contact with the inmate on two different dates.
