GHS students earn Microsoft certifications

GAINESVILLE - Thirty-four Gainesville High School students have demonstrated they have the skills needed to proficiently use Microsoft programs by earning a Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certificate. <br /> <br /> Through mastering the course standards in the Business program classes first semester, students earned an industry credential from Microsoft as proof of their knowledge and skills. The certification notifies prospective employers that our students are prepared to make immediate contributions in the workplace. Gainesville High School is an approved testing center which enables our students the opportunity to test on campus to earn their certification.<br /> <br /> While many of students earned an industry credential in more than one area, one student - Kimberly Smith - earned six certifications including two Expert level certifications to become recognized from Microsoft as a Microsoft Office Master. Seven additional students earned three or more certifications. <br /> <br /> Students who earned certification and a number of certifications: Kimberly Smith (6), Kebin Turcios (5), Christy Martinez (5), Janel Lampkin (5), Michael Contreras (5), Ella Vardeman (4), Iris Perez (3), Ann Nguyen (3), Krystal Sanchez (2), Jayla Willi ama (2), Abigail Nelson, Armoni Sarpong, Beatriz Ura, Bella Gonzalez, Brenda Alvarado, Cameron Hayes, Daniel Gillespie, Gerado Zavala, Grace Keith, Charters Embry, Jennifer Medina, Jum Nguyen, Marco Sesmas, Meredith Pannek, Miguel Montoya, Pierceson Lint, Richard Castillo, Righteousness Williams, Roan Thompson, Royer Cano, Sadie Abernathy, Tapan Shah, Victoria Grier, Yoana Cardenas.
