Teen charged after stabbing at East Ridge Road home

GAINESVILLE - A 16-year-old is in custody charged with aggravated assault following an altercation with his step-father Tuesday night, according to Hall County authorities.<br /> <br /> The teen and the step-father were involved in a verbal dispute at a home on East Ridge Road when the argument escalated. Authorities said the teen stabbed the step-father in the abdomen and then fled. <br /> <br /> K-9 units searched for the teen without success right after the incident. Sheriff's investigators said the teen turned himself in to law enforcement around 1 a.m., about six hours after the incident. <br /> <br /> The 16-year-old is being held at the Regional Youth Detention Center.<br /> <br /> The step-father was hospitalized at Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. He was last reported in stable condition.<br /> <br /> Names in the incident have not been released.<br /> <br /> <br />
