Dawson, Jackson projects included in GDOT contract awards<br /> <br /> by Ken Stanford<br /> <br /> ATLANTA - Projects in Dawson and Jackson counties are included in recent contract awards by the Georgia Department of Transportation.<br /> <br /> The Dawson County work involves bridge culvert rehabilitation at various locations on Georgia Highway 53.<br /> <br /> In Jackson County, a contract has been approved for 2.3 miles of resurfacing on Georgia Highway 98 from I-85 to Washington Street in Commerce.<br /> <br /> The contract awards are among sixteen recently approved by GDOT for projects expected to cost more than $61 million.<br /> <br /> As AccessNorthGa.com reported earlier, they also include the state's first "continuous flow" intersection which will be in Dawson County.
