GAINESVILLE - The Lake Lanier Association plans to install hazard lights on the northern end of the lake, expanding a project it began last year.

Joanna Cloud, the association's executive director, said Thursday the group hopes to install up to 100 of the solar-powered lights on hazard markers north of Browns Bridge Road.

More than 120 lights already dot the south end of the lake. Some of those were installed in 2013 and others earlier this year. (See earlier story. Link below.)

Cloud said the association is seeking sponsors for the lights at $250 each.
