Boys basketball: Lakeview shoots past Commerce in 8-A opener

GAINESVILLE -- The Lakeview Academy boys basketball team opened its Region 8-A season with a solid 66-44 win over Commerce Wednesday night at home.<br /> <br /> The Lions (3-1, 1-0 Region 8-A) trailed 15-12 early but used a pair of 19-point quarters to grab the lead and take a 50-38 lead into the fourth quarter. They put the game away holding the Tigers (0-5, 0-1) to just six fourth quarter points.<br /> <br /> Tre Gober led Lakeview with 20 points and eight rebounds. Tae Turner added 17 points and Jaden Reid and Carter Reeves each had eight rebounds for the Lions.<br /> <br /> Lakeview Academy next will travel to Mt. Paran in Kennesaw on Saturday. Commerce next will play host to Prince Avenue Christian on Saturday.
