UNG's Hutchins honored as PBC women's basketball Player of Week

University of North Georgia women's basketball player Kelsey Hutchins has been honored by the Peach Belt Conference as its AstroTurf Women's Basketball Player of the Week. The honor, announced Monday afternoon from the league office, is the second of the year for the UNG women's basketball program.<br />

Earlier today, Hutchins was honored as the UNG Campus Cash Nighthawk of the Week.<br />
<br />
Hutchins averaged 22 points and 13 rebounds in two Nighthawk wins last week. The sophomore from Lawrenceville opened up with 32 points on 10-of-15 shooting and eight rebounds in a win over Fort Valley State. <br />
<br />
She followed that up with a double-double of 12 points and 13 boards in a win over Brevard as UNG moved to 6-0 on the season. She added two blocks, an assist and a steal against Brevard and had three total blocks on the week. <br />
<br />
She shot 57% (15-26) from the floor and hit 13 of 14 free throws. <br />
<br />
Hutchins is currently sixth in the PBC in rebounding, 11th in scoring and sixth in free throw percentage.
