Girls basketball: Chestatee beats Cambridge for first win of season

GAINESVILLE -- The Chestatee girls basketball team picked up its first win of the season Saturday with a 53-38 win over Cambridge.<br /> <br /> It was a tight game early on with the teams locked in a 13-13 tie after the first quarter. The Lady War Eagles (1-2) took a 23-21 lead into halftime and then blew the game open with an 18-7 third quarter for a 41-28 lead<br /> <br /> Dawndria Bell paced Chestatee with 13 points. Kayla Watson added 12 points and Tyler Bennett had nine for the Lady War Eagles. Stephanie Briseno, Lindsey Caudell, and Macey Jarrard each had five points. <br /> <br /> Chestatee next will play host to East Hall on Friday.
