Girls basketball: Chestatee drops season-opener to River Ridge

WOODSTOCK -- The Chestatee girls basketball team dropped its season opener with a tough 50-45 loss to River Ridge Friday night.<br /> <br /> The Lady War Eagles (0-1) led 20-19 at halftime but could not hold on. The Lady Knights (2-2) used a 10-6 third quarter to grab the lead and then held on in the fourth quarter.<br /> <br /> Kayla Watson paced Chestatee with 15 points. Stephanie Briseno added 11 points and Dawndria Bell had eight points for the Lady War Eagles.<br /> <br /> Chestatee next will play Collins Hill on Saturday at noon at Jefferson High School.
