Dow, S&P 500 push further into record territory

Stocks pushed further into record territory Friday as investors welcomed a move by China to stimulate its economy by lowering interest rates.<br />
<br />
Hints from the head of Europe's central bank that it might step up its own stimulus efforts also put investors in a buying mood Friday.<br />
<br />
The Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 10 points, or 0.5 percent, to 2,063.<br />
<br />
The Dow Jones industrial average rose 91 points, also 0.5 percent, to 17,810. The Nasdaq composite added 11 points, or 0.2 percent, to 4,712.<br />
<br />
The S&P 500 and the Dow are at record highs.<br />
<br />
Material and energy stocks rose the most. Caterpillar jumped 4 percent, the biggest gain in the Dow.<br />
<br />
Bond prices rose. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note fell to 2.31 percent.
