Girls basketball: Lady Tigers rout Pickens in season-opener

JASPER -- The Dawson County girls basketball team opened its season in impressive style Tuesday.<br /> <br /> The Lady Tigers held Pickens to just 10 first half points en route to a 66-29 victory on the road.<br /> <br /> Dawson County (1-0) had 10 different players score led by Ashley Parker with 10 points. Ansley Costley added nine points and Karlie Bearden, Katelynn Simpson, and Sheyenne Seabolt all had eight points for the Lady Tigers. <br /> <br /> Dawson County opened strong jumping out to a 15-2 lead after the first quarter. The Lady Tigers pushed their lead to 31-10 by halftime.<br /> <br /> The Lady Tigers next will travel to Rabun County on Thursday as the two teams moved up their scheduled game by one as the Rabun County football team plys host to a playoff game.
