Piedmont College 'Empty Bowls' campaign benefits soup kitchen

DEMOREST - Piedmont College art professor Brian Hitselberger recently presented a $2,000 donation to Jeff Hudgens, director of the Cornelia Soup Kitchen.<br /> <br /> A group of Piedmont freshmen helped raise the money through a recent "Empty Bowls" event. Students from the Demorest and Athens campuses made ceramic bowls and provided entertainment for a fund-raising dinner to support the Soup Kitchen. <br /> <br /> Hudgens said the Kitchen expects to serve up to 350 people at a Thanksgiving Dinner Nov. 26 at the Cornelia First Baptist Church.
