OAKWOOD -- West Hall had the momentum, but Oconee County had one last sting.

After fighting back from a three-touchdown deficit to take a fourth-quarter lead, the Spartans watched the Warriors deliver the killer blow in a wild, 42-38 playoff finale in Oakwood that saw West Hall's incredible season come to an end.

The Spartans ripped off 24 straight points to snag a 38-35 lead with just 3:41 to play, but Oconee County -- which lost control of a dominating start -- responded with a 93-yard drive to pull out the victory.
"What can you say about these kids? There is simply no quit in them, and they showed so much character and heart to fight back from that start," West Hall coach Tony Lotti said. "Hats off to Oconee County, they didn't give in either. But I'm so proud of our kids and the effort they gave tonight."
West Hall (9-2) rolled up 425 yards of offense but never completely stopped Oconee County's aerial attack, as the Warriors threw for 292 yards, including the game-winner, a 44-yard toss and catch from quarterback Zeb Noland to Roques Dowdy.
Noland, who completed 10 of 19 passes, did most of his damage in the first half, passing for 200 yards, as Oconee County ran ahead to a 35-14 halftime lead -- only to watch West Hall come storming back thanks to improved defense and a dominant ground game.
Kwon Williams paced the Spartans offense with 182 yards rushing and two touchdowns -- his second a 77-yard jaunt that sparked wild celebrations through a bitterly-cold fanbase
