South Hall couple charged with burglary, bringing infant along to crimes

GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville couple has been arrested for burglary and child cruelty after investigators determined they burglarized homes in south Hall County with their baby in tow.<br /> <br /> According to Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Nicole Bailes, 35-year-old Keith Sylvester Evans was interviewed after authorities found stolen property during a warrant execution. Investigators believe Evans is responsible for at least four residential burglaries in the south Hall area.<br /> <br /> The Gainesville man and his live-in girlfriend , 26-year-old Johnna Lee Rayman were taken into custody. Then, authorities learned the couple's seven-month-old child was with them at the time of the alleged burglaries.<br /> <br /> The child was taken into custody by the Department of Family and Children Services. Evans and Rayman are in the Hall County jail without bond.<br /> <br /> Evans faces four counts of burglary in the first degree, child cruelty in the second degree, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a drug-related object and a state court probation warrant.<br /> <br /> Rayman was charged with one count of burglary, child cruelty in the second degree, and a hold was placed on her from Gwinnett County for an outstanding warrant.<br /> <br /> The case remains under investigation, and Bailes said the two may be responsible for other burglaries in the area.<br />
