Oakwood council approves new budget; includes 50 percent tax hike

OAKWOOD - The Oakwood City Council has approved the city's new budget which includes the 50 percent increase in property taxes that was OK'd a few weeks ago.<br /> <br /> City Manager Stan Brown confirmed Tuesday that the budget totals $6.6 million.<br /> <br /> The new tax rate is four mills.<br /> <br /> Brown also confirmed that to help shore up the city's finances in the new fiscal year, six vacant positions will not be filled.<br />
