HOMER - Banks County Water Department crews continue working to repair a break in a large main.

Banks County Public Information Officer Jenni Gailey said the leak in a 12-inch water line on Industrial Park Drive at Banks Crossing was discovered Monday morning.

Industrial Park Drive is closed to through traffic, Gailey said.

Traffic is detoured via Georgia Highway 59.

Around 4 p.m. Gailey provided an update.

"We received word that it should be within two hours," Gailey said. "It took a while to locate and they had to bring in some concrete."

Because the tanks didn't run low, no boil water advisory will be required, according to Steve Reece, public utilities director for the county.
