Amin El-Shami, recently named the UNG Campus Cash Nighthawk of the Week, has picked up his second spot on an honor roll as the Peach Belt Conference honored him as the league's men's soccer AstroTurf Player of the Week on Monday.
El-Shami propelled the Nighthawks into the PBC tournament with a pair of goals in the team's 4-3 win over USC Aiken. The junior midfielder from Roswell scored a pair of spectacular goals in a seven-minute span.
The scores were the second and third in the 4-3 win over the Pacers and both were huge blasts from 40 yards out. The win gave the Nighthawks enough points to jump up in the standings and claim the No. 8 seed for this week's PBC Tournament. The goals were his first two of the season.
He also helped UNG to battle to a scoreless draw at Lander on Wednesday evening in a pivotal PBC match with playoff implications.
The PBC weekly honor is the first of the season for the UNG men's soccer team.
