GREENWOOD, S.C. -- The No. 12 University of North Georgia women's soccer team yielded two late goals, falling to Lander, 3-1. With the loss, North Georgia falls to 13-3-1 and 7-2-1 in Peach Belt action. The Nighthawks outshot Lander (8-2-4, 5-2-3 PBC) 23-6 on the night.<br />

The Bobcats took an early lead when Kimberly Kesler collect one of her own missed attempts and found the back of the net in the 18th minute.<br />
<br />
North Georgia spent the majority of the next 40 plus minutes in the attacking third challenging Lander, but could not come up with a goal until Jessica Allen knocked in her second goal of the season finding the ball in a scramble off a Megan Morrow corner kick, tying the game at 1-1 in the 76th minute.<br />
<br />
Kesler drew blood again at the 77:42 mark delivering a strike from 30 yards out, over the head of Nighthawk keeper Mallory Sayre in the top left corner.<br />

In the closing seconds with North Georgia pressing up to force an equalizer, the Bobcats made a quick counter attack and Kesler found her way around Sayre and walked into the goal for the hat trick. The score came with just 15 seconds left on the clock and gave Lander their final lead, 3-1.<br />

Sayre collected a save but moves to 13-3-1 on the year.<br />

The defeat officially removed North Georgia from the Peach Belt regular season title. Combined with an Armstrong win tonight, the Nighthawks slip to third in the Peach Belt rankings but have clinched a top-four seed for the PBC Tournament and are guaranteed to host a quarterfinal match at the UNG Soccer Complex next Tuesday.<br />

First North Georgia will wrap up regular season play, hosting USC Aiken on Saturday with kickoff set for 5 p.m.
