Falcons sign veteran safety Charles Godfrey

FLOWERY BRANCH -- The Atlanta Falcons signed veteran free agent safety Charles Godfrey and waived safety Sean Baker.<br /> <br /> Godfrey made 75 starts in seven seasons with Carolina. Godfrey, a third-round pick from Iowa in 2008, has 11 interceptions. He played in seven games with one start this season before being released on Oct. 21.<br /> <br /> Baker began the season on Atlanta's practice squad before being signed to the active roster on Sept. 30. He appeared in four games and was not credited with a tackle.
