ATLANTA - Gov. Nathan Deal announced Monday morning that Kubota Manufacturing of America (KMA), a leading global manufacturer of small tractors, RTVs and lawn mowers, will expand its headquarters in Gainesville.

The move will create 650 jobs in Hall County and represents an investment of $100 million over the next several years.

"Kubota already has 1,300 employees here in Gainesville/Hall County - not including all their suppliers," said Tim Evans, the Vice President for Economic Development for the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce.

Kubota also employs 870 people at a facility in Jefferson.

Evans said the new facility will occupy a 180-acre site in the new Gateway Industrial Centre on I-985 north of Gainesville.

"That will lead to not only the job and investment creation that they [Kubota] are currently projecting, but may lead to some other growth down the road," said Evans.

He said he believes Kubota plans to break ground on the new facility in early 2015.

Kubota Corp. has had a presence in Georgia for 26 years.
