Commerce slams Towns County, 58-0

COMMERCE -- Commerce made short work of Towns County on Friday, taking a 45-0 first half lead en route to a 58-0 victory in Commerce.<br /> <br /> Seven different Tigers players scored touchdowns during the night, including two scores for Grant Mayberry, who ripped off scoring runs of 43 and 52 yards. Mayberry finished with 104 yards on just three carries.<br /> <br /> J'varius Wood (60 yards) and Cole Chancey (16 yards) also added fumble returns for touchdowns, while Trevonta Williford returned a punt 63 yards for a score.<br /> <br /> KJ Jones also had a 73 yards touchdown run, while Knox Allen (1 yard) and Braxton Legg (3 yards) also scored on the ground, as Commerce (6-2, 5-1 Region 8-A) put up 293 yards rushing. Andres Salgado also kicked a 30-yard field goal.<br /> <br /> The Tigers will travel to face George Walton Academy next week in Monroe.<br /> <br /> Towns County (1-8, 1-6) will look to bounce back next week against Providence Christian in Lilburn.
