GAINESVILLE - Hall County District 2 Commissioner Billy Powell will be joining other county residents Saturday as they provide lunch to Habitat for Humanity volunteers working on a house in South Hall.

Powell and members of the Hidden Harbor Homeowners Association will serve lunch to approximately 20 volunteers building a house for Charmain Smith, a local veteran.

"I am honored to serve these volunteers as they construct a home for someone who has already served this nation-- and this community-- in the most heroic way possible," Powell said.

Smith, who is actively involved in the construction process, is receiving the house through Habitat's "Home for a Hero" program. (See earlier story. Link below.)

Powell, members of the Hidden Harbor Homeowners Association and Habitat for Humanity volunteers will meet at noon Saturday at the site of the new house, 4243 Wintergreen Court.
