GAINESVILLE - Gainesville tax bills should arrive in the mail this week.

City Tax Coordinator, Dee Dee Stephens, says this is the final bill for 2014.

"The city's first installment billing that is always due the first part of September is based on the previous year's tax information. If your assessed value or name changed from the previous year or if you signed up for a new exemption, you will only receive your final bill that is due December 20. This bill will cover the full year. If no changes are made to your property next year, you should go back to receiving two bills each year," Stephens said.

Failure to receive the bill doesn't relieve property owners of penalty and interest. If you do not receive a bill by the end of next week you should contact the city tax office at (770) 535-5639 for a copy of the bill.

Approximately 12,134 tax bills were mailed this year. Payments can be made in person at 300 Henry Ward Way, online at www.gainesville.org or by mail. Credit card payments are accepted online and in person.
