Commerce slams Providence Christian to get back on winning track

LILBURN -- Commerce got back to its winning ways in emphatic fashion on Friday.<br />

The Tigers hammered Providence Christian 49-10 in Lilburn, coming off a bye and exploding into the first half for a 42-7 lead. The Tigers had lost their most recent game, falling to Prince Avenue on Oct. 3.<br />
<br />
Five different Commerce players scored on the night, including a 56-yard run from Cole Chancey. Grant Mayberry also added a 44-yard coring run, while Caleb Brooks scored on a 35-yard run and tossed a 22-yard TD pass to Chancey. Will Thomas managed two scoring runs, while Knox Allen also scored on the ground.<br />
<br />
Chancey finished with three carries for 130 yards, while Brooks added 108 yards on three carries. The Tigers finished with 530 yards rushing.<br />
<br />
Commerce will play host to Towns County for homecoming next Friday.
